STORING YOUR HAT
ON A WALL
This is our favorite way of storing hats. Use a longer nail or hook to hang your hat by the interior portion of the crown, laying flat against the wall.
ON A SHELF – RESTING ON THE CROWN
When storing your hat on a shelf, store it upside down on the crown. This will ensure the brim of the hat does not take a new unwanted shape.
If you’re stacking multiple hats [inside one hatbox], be sure to stack heavier hats (wool, leather, angora) on the bottom, and lightweight fabrics (straw, linen, cotton) on top
IN A HAT BOX
This can be the best option for keeping your hat dust and dirt free while still maintaining a perfect shape. We recommend storing the wool hats in the bag(s) they ship in and store your straw hat bagless on its crown (upside down).
CLEANING
WOOL
Dust and grime can accumulate on a hat under any normal condition. Dust can be removed by brushing with a soft brush. Always brush in a counterclockwise direction.
STRAW
Dust or dirt can also be removed by wiping the hat with a damp (not wet) towel that will not transfer color or fibers.
